Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween: A Spooky Celebration of 25 Years

Freeform is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its 31 Nights of Halloween programming event with a lineup of Halloween favorites that will keep viewers enchanted all month long. From Oct. 1 to Oct. 31, fans can enjoy a collection of Halloween films ranging from timeless classics to contemporary gems, as well as the Freeform premieres of Encanto, Zombies, and Zombies 2.

The event kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 1, with Mrs. Doubtfire, Scared Shrekless, Halloweentown, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, The Haunted Mansion (2003), Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Hotel Transylvania, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, and Decorating Disney: Halloween Magic.

The following days will feature more spooky and fun titles, such as The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror episodes, the Twilight saga, The Addams Family, The Craft (1996), Monsters, Inc., Cruella, and many more. Of course, no 31 Nights of Halloween would be complete without multiple airings of Hocus Pocus, the cult classic 1993 movie that will be shown 16 times throughout the month. On Oct. 14, viewers can also catch a special Hocus Pocus: Pop ‘N Knowledge Edition.

According to Simran Sethi, EVP of Programming and Content Strategy, ABC Entertainment and Freeform, the event is a time-honored tradition for viewers who have grown up with 31 Nights of Halloween over the last 25 years. He said that the holiday classics bring “a real sense of comfort and nostalgia to people” and that they look forward to celebrating this anniversary with another spirited lineup.

So, grab your broomsticks, sweep your schedules, light your black-flame candle, and gather around the couch for a month’s worth of opportunity to binge all of these devilishly delightful films. It’s Halloween time!
