AMC Fear Fest 2023: What to Watch This Halloween Season
If you are a fan of horror movies and TV shows and you’re NOT a cord cutter, then you will not want to miss AMC Fear Fest 2023, the network’s annual celebration of all things spooky and scary.
AMC Fear Fest 2023, presented by Shudder, will feature over 700 hours of films, series and specials hand-curated by Shudder for the first time ever. The event will span across September and October and will include new programming from Shudder as well as iconic horror classics you’ve come to know from the premiere celebration of spooky season on cable TV.
The countdown to Fear Fest began on September 1 with Shudder’s 101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments of All Time, a series that counts down the most terrifying scenes in horror history, every Friday at 11:00 p.m. on AMC. The last week of September will feature a primetime takeover of horror movies every night of the week, including the Scream and Halloween franchises, as well as Stephen King classics like The Shining and Firestarter.
October will kick off with wall-to-wall coverage of horror films and series on AMC, including new Shudder movies and series every Friday night. Some of the highlights include:
- V/H/S/85 (Shudder Original Film): The next installment in the V/H/S franchise, set in 1985, where a group of friends break into a haunted house and discover a collection of cursed videotapes. Premieres on October 6 on Shudder and AMC+.
- Creepshow Season 4 (Shudder Original Series): The anthology series based on the 1982 film by George A. Romero and Stephen King, featuring stories of horror and humor from some of the genre’s best writers and directors. Premieres on October 13 on Shudder, AMC+ and AMC.
- When Evil Lurks (Shudder Original Film): A documentary that explores the real-life cases of demonic possession and exorcism, featuring interviews with experts, witnesses and survivors. Premieres on October 27 on Shudder and AMC+.
- The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs: The cult-favorite host returns with special episodes featuring commentary and trivia on some of the best (and worst) horror movies ever made. Airs throughout the season on Shudder and AMC.
AMC Fear Fest 2023 will also celebrate the anniversaries of some of the most influential horror films of all time, such as The Exorcist (50th anniversary), Rosemary’s Baby (55th anniversary) and The Last House on the Left (50th anniversary). You can also catch other horror classics like Psycho, The Omen, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and more.
